How to Get to the Summit

It can feel daunting grappling with a new city’s transport. But luckily, London is one of the world’s best-connected and eco-focussed cities, with six international airports, twelve major rail stations and the iconic underground, so you’re never far away from your next stop. Here are some ways that you can get to The Ecocity Summit.

By Bus

Bus Route 153 runs directly past the Barbican along Chiswell Street. Alight at 'Silk Street'. The Barbican is also close to Bus Route 4 and 56 which serve Barbican tube station.

By Tube

The Barbican is within walking distance from a number of London Underground and Elizabeth Line stations, the closest being Barbican, St Paul’s, Farringdon and Moorgate.

Barbican: 4 min walk; Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan, Circle lines
Moorgate: 7 min walk; Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan, Circle lines
Farringdon: 8 min walk; Elizabeth line
St Paul's: 11 min walk; Central line

By Rail

The nearest train stations are Liverpool Street and Farringdon. The new Elizabeth Line can be accessed from Farringdon Station.

Liverpool Street: 11 min walk
Farringdon: 8 min walk
Old Street and Moorgate are also served by Great Northern and Thameslink trains and are within walking distance of the Barbican.

London can easily be accessed from the rest of Europe via the Eurostar.

By Car

The venue is clearly sign-posted and has car parking which can be accessed via the Beech Street tunnel and via Silk Street. Bookings can be made online or on arrival and can only be paid with card on ‘pay on foot’ machines located within the car parks. You pay at the end of your stay, unless you are booking online and have pre-paid.

The Barbican Car Parks are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and are always manned. CCTV and a 24 hour security team are available on site.

Access by Silk Street: the first car park will be Car Park 3 and you will be on Level -1 of the Barbican.

Access by Beech Street: the first car park will be Car Park 5 and Car Park 4 and you will be on the Ground Floor of the Barbican.

By Air

London is serviced by six international airports; Heathrow [largest user of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in the world], Gatwick, City, Luton, Stanstead and Southend. The closest is London City Airport [committed to becoming the city's first net zero airport] but the new Elizabeth Line operates a train from Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 to Liverpool Street Station every 20 minutes and the journey takes approximately 45 minutes.
